DEFINISI MANGROVE

Mangrove adalah suatu komunitas tumbuhan atau suatu individu jenis tumbuhan yang membentuk komunitas tersebut di daerah pasang surut (Kusmana, 2002)

Kata Mangrove  merupakan kombinasi antara bahasa portugis mangue dan bahasa inggris grove (Macnae, 1968)

Ekosistem mangrove adalah sumberdaya alam yang memiliki tempat tumbuh yang spesifik.

Ekosistem mangrove tumbuh di zona pantai (berlumpur) yang selalu atau secara teratur tergenang air laut dan terpengaruh oleh pasang surut air laut dan tidak terpengaruh oleh iklim.

Ekosistem mangrove merupakan jalur hijau yang terpadu pada teluk-teluk, delta, muara sungai sampai menjorok kearah pedalaman dan garis pantai (Dephut, 1997)

 

 

Definition of Mangrove

Mangrove is a community plant or an individual plant species that make up the community in tidal areas (Kusmana, 2002)

The word of Mangrove is a combination of Portuguese language “mangue” and English language “grove” (Macnae, 1968)

The mangrove ecosystem is a natural resource that has a specific place to grow.

Mangrove ecosystem growing in the coastal zone (muddy) were always or regularly inundated by seawater and is affected by the tide and is not affected by the climate.

The mangrove ecosystem is an integrated green line in bays, deltas, river mouths until protrudes towards to the interior and coastline (MoF, 1997)


FUNGSI DAN MANFAAT MANGROVE

Fungsi mangrove bisa dikategorikan kedalam tiga macam fungsi, Yaitu:

1. Fungsi Fisik

Menjaga garis pantai dan tebing sungai dari erosi/abrasi agar tetap stabil, mempercepat perluasan lahan, mengendalikan intrusi air laut,  melindungi daerah dibelakang mangrove dari hempasan gelombang dan angin kencang dan mengolah limbah organik.

2. Fungsi Biologis / Ekologis

Tempat mencari makan (Feeding ground), tempat memijah (Spawing ground), dan tempat berkembang biak (Nursery ground) berbagai jenis ikan, udang, kerang dan biota laut lainnya, Tempat bersarang berbagai jenis satwa liar terutama burung, sumber plasma nutfah.

3. Fungsi Ekonomis

Hasil hutan berupa kayu, Seperti Madu, Obat-obatan, minuman, dan makanan, tannin, lahan untuk kegiatan produksi pangan dan tujuan lainnya.

 

Functions of Mangrove

There are three functions of mangrove, such as:

1. The Physical Function

The physical functions of mangrove are keeping the shoreline and riverbanks from erosion/abrasion to remain stable, accelerate the expansion of land, control the seawater intrusion, to protect the rear area mangroves from the pounding waves and strong winds and treating organic waste.

2. The Biological / Ecological Function

The biological/ecological functions of mangrove are feeding ground, spawning ground, and the nursery ground of many kinds of fish, shrimp, shellfish and other marine life, the nesting place of various types of wildlife, especially birds, source of germplasma.

3. The Economic Function

The economic functions of mangrove are the timber products, honey, medicines, drinks, and food, tannin, land for food production and other purposes.


HUTAN MANGROVE DI TAMAN NASIONAL KARIMUNJAWA

Ekosistem hutan mangrove Taman Nasional Karimunjawa terdapat di pulau Karimunjawa, Kemujan, Cemara Kecil, Cemara Besar, Krakal Kecil, Krakal Besar, Mrico, Menyawakan, dan Sintok.

Hutan Mangrove terluas terdapat di Pulau Kemujan dan Karimunjawa seluas 396, 90 Ha yang didominasi oleh jenis Exoccaria agallocha sedangkan jenis Rhizophora stylosa menyebar di seluruh wilayah.

Spesies yang terdiri atas 26 spesies mangrove sejati dan 13 spesies mangrove ikutan yang berada dalam kawasan dan 5 spesies diluar taman nasional

 

Mangrove Forest in the Karimunjawa National Park

Mangrove forests are spread all over the island in Karimunjawa. Mangrove forest ecosystems of Karimunjawa National Park are located at Karimunjawa, Kemujan, Cemara Kecil, CemaraBesar, Krakal Kecil, KrakalBesar, Mrico, Menyawakan, and Sintok.
There are extensive Mangrove Forests on the island of Kemujan and Karimunjawa Island that has 396, 9 hectares dominated by Exoccariaagallocha while Rhizophorastylosa spread across the region.
There are many kinds of mangrove species in Karimunjawa such as 26 species of true mangrove and 13 associate mangroves in the region of Karimunjawa and 5 species outside of national park.
